RTV(Room Temperature Vulcanization)
RTV 2K is fire-stop material and designed based on Silicone Rubber’s unique characteristics such as high temperature resistance, flame retardant, sound-proofness and air-tightness. RTV 2K is in two parts and the mixing ratio is 1:1. Once the two parts mixed, the mixture is to be blown and cured two or three times within 1 ~ 5 minutes and stiffens to become a closed cell sponge-type elastomer. Now, RTV 2K is used as fire-stop material for skyscrapers, hotels, department stores, nuclear power plant, thermal power plants, chemical plants, refineries where the demand for a perfect fireproof sealing material is on the rise. Also, HRS RTV 2K Foam effectively seals the opening of buildings to protect human from harmful gases.
Properties of RTV Foam
- 1.Excellent fireproof
- The silicone foam, mainly composed of silicone, have shown an outstanding fireproofness through tests like FS 012, KSF 2842, UL-1479, ASTM E-814, ASTM E-84, etc. This is because its main component is silicone. The silicone foam blocks heat. Once it is heated, the air inside the cell expands and tightly seals the spaces between walls, preventing the fire from spreading.
- 2.Excellent gas-tight
- The silicone foam is composed of closed cells. Thus, if heated, it further expands and covers openings tightly, blocking harmful gases and oxygen. In addition, it is highly soundproof, waterproof and moisture proof.
- 3.Excellent resilience and shock-absorbing
- The silicone foam is an elastic body cured into the sponge of a silicone rubber elastic body. This silicone foam, by maintaining its resilience semipermanently, completely absorbs shocks, prevents cracks from taking place, deals with the thermal expansion and contraction of construction materials.
- 4.Easy repair
- Whenever repair is needed, only such a part can be cut. Thus, additional or secondary works can be done with easy and a complete sealing work is possible with later injections. Works are possible while leaving small pipes and cables as they were.
RTV Foam Applications
RTV for EV
For various electrical components of an electric vehicle, the technology is important that cooling the heat which is generated in the process of converting and storing electricity. Especially, the cooling system is more important for temperature management of battery packs for electric vehicle, considering the charging and storing efficiency and safety of use. for effective cooling, the battery pack should be stuck to cooling plate. The surfaces inside the battery assembly looks smooth and perfectly contacted in naked eyes. However, at a microscopic level, both surfaces have ridges which prevent ideal contact by trapping air in the rough surface.
TIM(Thermal Interface Material) is used mainly to fill the gap between two substrates and various thermal conductive gap filler and other thermal conductive interface materials(For example, thermal gap pads, thermal conductive adhesives) can improve battery pack performance and reliability.
Thermal conductive gap filler products is generally designed to be used in 1:1 mixing ratio which provides ease of use.

DM(Dental Impression Materials)
A Dental Impression Material is one of the most important materials that is used in the process of dental prosthetics. It imprints dentition or surrounding structures of oral cavity and provides detailed and stable negative of teeth. Comparing with other common Dental Impression Materials such as agar, alginate, polyester, polysulfide and condensation silicone, addition silicone dental impression material has excellent elastic recovery, short working and curing time, no deformation after fully cured, high dimensional stability and also provides excellent detail reproduction. HRS silicone dental impression material called Sildent is hydrophilic addition silicone that has good wet ability when condensation silicone dental impression material has low wet ability due to the moisture on the surface of teeth. Dental Impression Materials consist of light, regular, heavy and putty by variation of viscosity.
DM Applications
MMR(Mold Making Rubber)
MMR (Mold Making Rubber) is a RTV 3K condensation silicone, using Base, curing agent and accelerator. It is mainly used for industrial Rollers and has properties that can effectively remove dirt, find dust and dust on the surface of products. Very stable to remove dirt and dust even after a long period of use. Also it is possible to use in a wide range of temperatures due to silicone rubber's unique properties of heat resistance and low temperature retention.
